Candle Light Romance Winter Wedding

Day 1 of Positive Vibes Only

WHAT WE DO.

Real life wedding inspo.

Katie and John's winter wedding oozed candle light romance . The trendy but homely interior of Weston Manor House in Totland created the perfect setting for the vibe we wanted to create, especially once their grand fireplaces were lit. Katie expressed how she wanted the rooms filled with simple white pillar candles and greenery to bring the room to life with a wintery feel. This wedding proved to be quite a challenge as the main room had to be changed 3 times. Ceremony, banquet to the evening soirée keeping the same theme throughout. Any styling ideas we had needed to be easily adaptable and quick to change over. Large foliage flower instillations from The Flower Garden provided a large part of the décor, wrapping them in fairy lights to bring them and the room to life. We kept the aisle simple with a variety of lanterns (provided by inspired events) logs from the manors garden, tealights, and greenery and of added texture and warmth with the faux fur skins. We didn't want to take anything away from the room but instead showed off its features and incorporated its interior. Anything we placed on the aisle or windows was then reused again as table décor once we turned the room into its banquet setting. The tables were laid with personalised printed napkins and cute little succulents as favours. The guests enjoyed homemade pies and sausage and mash provided by The Events CO. The biggest challenge was disguising the large kitchen island. Hiding it wasn't really an option so instead we agreed to make a feature out of it. Creating a large and luxurious display perfect to showoff the cake made by Frostbite Bakery. We created different levels and heights with various log slices, crates, and candles as well as our vintage glass bottles filled with greenery and flower cuttings. It became a real focal point of the day and an area all guests seemed to congregate around especially when the hot chocolate and cookie bar was opened later in the evening. Elsewhere as the wedding was towards the end of November a Christmas tree was placed in the large entrance hall together with the order of the day and guestbook/gifts table. The bride also had a specialised children's corner set up together with a nanny to keep the kids entertained throughout the day. Later that evening the guests enjoyed music provided by the groomsmen and paella made on site by Cinz and Rex of Smoking Lobster and hosts of the house. We provided on the day coordination which included changing the rooms over and all the styling. We left the party at 10pm that night as they were enjoying drinks and marshmallows with sparklers around a firepit outside the front of the house.

We LOVE winter weddings!
